1. Keep your diet on track – eat something healthy before you head to a holiday celebration, so you don’t arrive hungry and eat everything in sight. If you are going to indulge during the holiday celebrations, make it count! Indulge in only the most special treats so that you eliminate some of the excessive calories.Holiday-Card-Front-2015
  2. Keep your workout routine going – your schedule may be erratic due to travel, family coming into town, but do find time to workout. Even 15 minutes can boost your metabolism and keep you on track! If you don’t have a workout routine, start one! Commit to 10-15 minutes, 4-5 times per week and increase as your schedule and body allows.
  3. Slow Down – and enjoy the moment. Our busy schedules keep us on the move, but be sure to enjoy the moment with those that are present and celebrating with you. Take a deep breath and take it in and enjoy a moment of gratitude for all the great people that surround you and lift you up. Consider skipping a holiday engagement or two to help lessen the stress.
  4. If the Holiday Stress is getting to you – get outdoors and go for a hike, increase your Vitamin D production by being out in the sun and improve your mood by connecting with nature. Citrus essential oils and fragrance boost mental energy and feelings of well-being – take a whiff of a freshly cut orange or lemon or alternatively dab a few drops of Citrus essential oil on a handkerchief and take a whiff as needed.
  5. Hydrate and Supplement –herbal teas are a great way to keep up your water intake during this cold weather. Buy a box or two of immune supportive, relaxing or energizing blends and drink them through the day. Add a dash of honey to sweeten and as long at the tea is clear (no milk added), you can count this into your water intake for the day. Stay away from caffeinated teas in the later part of the day. Great brands to consider are Traditional Medicinals, Gaia Herbs, Pukka Teas or any other organic variety (that does not contain artificial ingredients).
