Bisphenol A (BPA) continues to receive a lot of coverage in the press. As of September of this year, Canada has declared BPA to be a toxic substance. BPA is primarily used to make plastics and at least 8 billion pounds are used by manufacturers each year. Research has shown BPA to be endocrine disruptor, which means that introduction of it into our body can lead it to mimic the body’s own hormones. Previously determined safety levels for humans are now being questioned.
