Now that the food has been eaten and the pies enjoyed thoroughly, everyone is figuring out what to do with leftovers and planning out their holiday shopping escapades. Retailers have reported that more shoppers turned out for this year’s Black Friday in comparison to last year. That is surely a good sign. I wanted to share a recipe that was a hit at our holiday get-together.
Fresh peaches are abundant at the farmers market during the summer. A few weeks ago, I got together with a few friends and we picked fresh peaches at a farm in Brentwood. The East County has abundant fruit farms with fresh picked produce, as well as u-pick farms where you can pick fruits and vegetables. When we got home the obvious question was, what do we do with our freshly picked peaches? While we watched a few comedy videos, we made a fresh peach cobbler and ate it with ice cream.
